Lower Elementary Assistant

Newberry House Montessori School is opening its first Elementary environment at our Spier campus in 2027. We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Lower Elementary Assistant to work alongside the Elementary Guide and help establish a flourishing Montessori learning environment.

The role includes supporting the Guide in delivering authentic Montessori education aligned with AMI principles, helping to maintain a well-prepared indoor and outdoor environment and supporting children in their daily work and development.

The Assistant will also contribute to the wider Elementary experience, including Going-Outs, Earth stewardship, Elementary camp and extracurricular activities under the guidance of the Guide.

Hours: 07:30–15:30

We are looking for someone who is inspired by Montessori education, enjoys working with children and is eager to continue learning and growing as an educator.

• BEd, PGCE and/or Montessori qualification preferred • Experience working with 6–12-year-olds, ideally in a Montessori environment • SACE registration and valid police clearance • A commitment to understanding and applying authentic Montessori principles • Strong interpersonal, communication and administrative skills • Adaptability, initiative and the ability to contribute positively to a collaborative team • Alignment with Newberry House’s values of authenticity, grace and courtesy and lifelong learning
