The Newberry 3E’s

At Newberry House, experience is part of the education. Children learn deeply when they encounter real people, real places and real work. Through sport, culture, service, outdoor learning and estate-based experiences, learners build confidence, judgement, skill and a stronger connection to the world around them.

Sport at Newberry

Sport is part of daily life at Newberry. Through movement, team sport, lifestyle sport and healthy competition, learners develop skill, courage, resilience and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

Learning on a working estate

Newberry House sits within one of the Western Cape’s most extraordinary working estates. Lourensford is a destination in its own right, and our learners grow up immersed in its rhythms.

Recreation

Padel Hub, mountain bike trails and the Clay Pigeon Hub bring outdoor activity to our doorstep.

Culinary experiences

Millhouse, Ghenwa’s, Wedgewood Nougat and the Lourensford Coffee Roasting Company turn the estate into a working classroom for food, hospitality and enterprise.

Wellness

Life Retreat, the Fiord Plunge and Move with Suz bring wellbeing, movement and healthy living into the wider estate experience.

Art and entertainment

NV Film Studio, Artjamming, the Art Curator Gallery and the Motor Museum bring design, craft, storytelling and heritage into reach.

Estate craft

Ginologist and the Lourensford Cellar form part of the estate’s wider identity as a place of craft, quality and enterprise.
