Building updates for Middle and High School | Newberry House
6 November 2026

Dear Middle and High School parents,
We are excited to share a few updates on the building projects and developments taking place in our Middle and High School environments.

NEW SCIENCE LABORATORY
Our new Science Laboratory has reached an exciting milestone, having been completed sufficiently for provisional use just in time for our first Cambridge practical examination two weeks ago.
We are immensely proud of this new facility, which has been thoughtfully designed to reflect Newberry's Montessori-inspired architecture, meet Cambridge's requirements for practical science examinations, and incorporate valuable input from our educators.
The final touches are currently being completed in the examination office, preparation room and administrative office.
A special thank you to Martin Pienaar, our Design and Facilities Lead, and everyone who has contributed to bringing this project to life. We look forward to seeing our learners, educators and wider Newberry community benefit from this facility for many years to come.
MIDDLE SCHOOL EXPANSION IN 2027
Our Middle School is expanding in 2027 to accommodate our growing learner numbers.
As part of this expansion, Middle School will be moving out of Rooibos, the classroom above the astro, which will become Lourensford's third Upper Elementary environment next year.
We are currently preparing two new Middle School classrooms for 2027. As part of these changes, some subject classes in both Middle and High School will also be allocated to different venues across the campus.

These developments will help us make better use of our existing spaces while creating additional capacity to support the growth of both Middle School and Upper Elementary.
We are excited about the value these improvements will bring to our learning environments and will share further updates as arrangements are finalised.
Thank you for your continued support as we invest in the development of our campus and prepare for 2027.
Kind regards,
